Farewell Ford

The St. Louis Evangelism Team would like to say "farewell for now" to our very own, Kevin Ford. Our Brother in Christ and dear friend, left this morning to serve our country in Qtar along with the other members of the Army's 332nd Medical Logistics Company.

We know the LORD will continue to use Kevin as a means to advance His Kingdom as He sends him into "all the world" with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  Kevin will be deeply missed.  He is a great encouragement to us all as he continues to grow in the knowledge of God and remains a steadfast witness for Jesus Christ.  No matter where he may find himself, he always looks for a chance to share the life giving Gospel and there is no doubt he will continue to be used of God.

Please keep Kevin in prayer, as well as his family and friends, while he is away.

COR 27 - The Importance of the True Gospel

The message "The Importance of the True Gospel" was delivered at COR 27 held at Bethesda Baptist Church in St. Charles, MO on June 5, 2010. We are Ambassadors of God's Gospel.  We are to proclaim the truth, not adjust it.  Often times the assumption behind diluting or changing the Gospel message is "the world has changed", therefore, what used to be true is no longer true, so the Gospel must be modified in order to reach the lost in this day and age.  You must ask yourself this... the Gospel of Jesus Christ is God's Gospel... it is His Word!  What authority on heaven and earth do you have to change His message?  None!  You cannot revise the Gospel!

"I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— not that there is another one, but there are some who trouble you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed.
It is our prayer that the LORD would use this message to move professing Christians to examine their lives to see if the are truly a slave to Christ, or still yet an unrepentant slave to sin?  If you believe you are the latter of the two, repent and believe the Gospel while there's still time.  As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed.  (Galatians 1:6-9)

Accursed is to be "set aside for destruction".  Think twice before taking it upon yourself to modify the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

To Him alone be the Glory,

St. Louis Evangelism Team

Open Air Preaching @ the St. Louis Arch

Anytime we get to go out as a group to share the Gospel is a privilege, but this time was even more special. We were able to team up with Tom Burgee this time around who was able to obtain permits and organize the outing. It is such a blessing to team up with fellow laborers who have a heart for the lost and to glorify God.

The day began around 10 in the morning under the Arch where we gathered for prayer. I pondered looking up at the Arch how this represented the gateway to the West and here we would be proclaiming the narrow gate of the cross. We then set out to our various posts around the Arch like faithful soldiers (Ephesians 6:13). The Word was then proclaimed with all those who would listen. Hundreds of tracts were handed out and several divine appointments were held, as the Gospel of Jesus Christ was shared. Tim shared the Gospel with a retired soldier, as Kevin broke the sound barrier that day and started to open air preach.

At 1 o’clock we gathered again under the Arch. This time we organized for what would be a rapid fire session of open air preaching. Tom began by giving the good person test and how he personally failed miserably. Then I (Ken) got up and proclaimed the Gospel in speaking of God’s holiness and how there is only one way to worship Him. Then Travis, Josh and our newly acquainted with brother Eric pleaded with the crowd. So we emphatically declared the finished work of Christ and the command for everyone to repent (Acts 17:30).

We will never know how many hearts were impacted, but we know that the Word will not return void (Isaiah 55:11). So though our hearts were heavy with those that are following the prince of this world, we followed John MacArthur’s message from Together for the Gospel. We sowed and then we slept (Mark 4:26-29), for salvation is of the Lord (Jonah 2:9)!

Now we pray and hope someone waters and God causes the increase (1 Corinthians 3:6). We can rest assure on one thing. The Lord has answered our prayer in raising up laborers for there was 14 of us there that day. May God be glorified and Christ receive the reward for His suffering!

To God alone be the glory,

Kelly Kreitner Baptism @ First Baptist Church of Lake St. Louis

Praise the LORD for Kelly and for her obedience to Him! It's only when we see how wretched and unworthy we truly are to stand justified and free before a Holy God do we get a glimpse of the magnitude of God's grace. May our love and gratitude for Christ increase evermore with each passing moment.

Tony Diesel Baptism @ First Baptist Church of Lake St. Louis

The best way to describe this video is "broken man". When the Gospel of Jesus Christ is preached and the Holy Spirit moves it's an absolute miracle the work that is done. How can a man go from loving his sin, completely blind and callous to the things of God... to falling on his face, crying out to God for mercy because for the first time in his life he has seen his sin in truth... crimes against a holy God! (Rev 21:8) This does not happen because he one day decided to step out of the line going to hell and step into the line going to heaven. It happened because the Almighty Creator of the universe supernaturally changed his heart and made him a new creature! (2 Cor 5:17) He has been regenerated (Titus 3:5), justified (Rom 3:23-24) and is now being sanctified. All because he is a good person? NO! Because God is love and merciful and because this act of love and mercy on Tony was in accordance with His good will and pleasure. Tony repented of his sin and put his trust in Jesus Christ!

Rhea Ford Baptism @ First Baptist Church of Lake St. Louis

After having heard the Gospel of Jesus Christ, Rhea saw her state before a holy God. She recognized for the first time in her life that she was a wretched sinner and in desperate need of a Savior. She fell on her knees and cried out to God for mercy and He granted her repentance and faith!

On January 24, 2010, Rhea Ford was Baptized by her brother Kevin. Listen to her testimony as she explains in her own words the work that God has done in her!

COR 27 - Who's Slave Are You?

The message "Who's Slave Are You?" was delivered at the first COR 27 event of 2010 at Bethesda Baptist Church in St. Charles, MO on January 2, 2010. You are either a slave to sin, or a slave to Christ.  Which one are you?  If you are a Christian, you are a no longer a slave to sin, you have been set from from the bondage of sin and death and are now a slave to Christ!

It is our prayer that the LORD would use this message to move professing Christians to examine their lives to see if the are truly a slave to Christ, or still yet an unrepentant slave to sin?  If you believe you are the latter of the two, repent and believe the Gospel while there's still time.
